Summer Camps 2025

Summer camps 2025
forest, garden and beach adventurers
Our nature camps are perfect for children led and curiosity based learning styles, filled with nature art, gardening, feeling inner joy and practical wilderness skills!
Our summer camps will be centred on how to be a Friend to the Earth
We will explore: Ways to to take care of nature around us
Creating Art with natural materials
Foraging in the garden
Positive rolemodelling
Dressing up and imaginary roleplaying as forest, sea, garden creatures
We love arts and crafts such as leaf printing, rock decorating, wooden doll creating, wand making, or pouring beeswax salves with healing plants. We also play around with singing, rhythm and music inspired by sounds in nature, like bird calls. Furthermore, we create little theatre skits that show the lessons of boundaries, love, humour, and respect to the animals and trees, as well as other humans! All of these activities are inspired by the principles of building a home in nature, creativity in arts and imaginary role playing.
We learn about local Pacific North West coastal plants and animals through circle story telling, drawing upon teachings from different cultures including local indigenous stories and seasonal medicine wheels. We also explore a wide variety of nature settings such as coastal beaches, forests and many of the habitats in-between with questions and nature games with fun body movement, journalling, face painting and puppet making.
Most importantly each day is different because we tailor the experience with awareness based on the individual children and group dynamics. Each week is caringly curated and guided by experienced wilderness school mentors. You might ask 'How does it work with an age range of 5-12 in your camps?' We find that it works as a benefit rather than a detriment because the older kids care for the younger ones and share skills, while the younger ones learn off the older ones who are empowered to be role models. We function as a family as a whole and also split up into smaller friend circles for sharing with peers, or for skill levels and challenges that help us grow.
Safety is at our forefront and our experienced, first aid trained, mentors take care of small class size which helps us each child get the most out of our school.
It takes a a village to raise each other and we value your time spent with us!
